Waffles with new extras

Waffle iron no. 0010

Ingredients for 10 - 12 rounds:


Crispy waffles


Classical waffles with jam and cream:
3 dl of flour
2 dl of cold water
2 tbs of melted butter or margarine
3 dl of cream

serve with:
Whipped cream, jam.

Preparation:
1. Whisk flour and water together to a smooth mixture.
2. Melt the cooking fat and leave it to cool. Whisk the cream until it is thick. 3. Mix the melted cooking fat and cream into the mixture. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
4. Heat the waffle iron and pour 3/4 - 1 dl of mixture into it. Bake for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. Place the finished waffles on a grating while you make more. Serve with whipped cream and jam.


Chocolate waffles


Waffle iron no. 0010

For approx. 8 rounds:

Ingredients:
50 g of butter or margarine
2 eggs
3 dl of milk
2 dl of flour
2 tbs of cocoa
1 tsp of baking powder

Serve with:
Vanilla ice cream

Preparation:
1. Melt the cooking fat and leave it to cool.
2. Split the eggs into yolks and egg whites. Whisk the egg yolks together with the milk.
3. Mix the flour with cocoa and baking powder. Mix it into the egg mixture and whisk it until it is smooth.
4. Mix the cooled cooking fat into the mixture.
5. Whisk the egg whites into a hard foam. Add it to the mixture.
6. Heat up the waffle iron and coat it with melted cooking fat. Pour 3/4 - 1 dl of mixture into the pan. Bake for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. Serve the waffles directly or leave them on a grating until all of them are made. Serve the warm waffles with vanilla ice cream.


Wholemeal waffles


Waffle iron no. 0010

For 10 - 12 rounds:

Ingredients:
100 g of butter or margarine
2 dl of flour
1 1/2 dl wholemeal flour
1/2 dl of wheat bran
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking powder
5 dl of milk
2 eggs

Serve with:
Salty extras

Preparation:
1. Melt the cooking fat and leave it to cool. Mix flour, wholemeal flour, wheat bran, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Add half of the milk and whisk until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
2. Add the remaining milk, the cooled cooking fat and the eggs. Whisk the mixture until it is smooth.
3. Heat the waffle iron and butter it the first time. Pour 3/4 - 1 dl of waffle mixture into the waffle iron depending on its size. Bake for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. Place the finished waffles on a grating while you make the rest. Serve with salty extras.


Waffles with cottage cheese mix


Waffle iron no. 0010

For 10 – 12 rounds

Ingredients:
1/2 a small leek
100 g of smoked or boiled ham
3 marinated sun-dried tomatoes
250 g of cottage cheese

Preparation:
1. Clean and shred the leek finely. Dice the ham and tomatoes.
2. Mix the onion, ham and tomato with the cottage cheese. Place a dollop of the mixture on each waffle.
